I saw my Uncle Jumari (or Cik Ju as i usually called him) in Suria Channel.
It was just a short commercial of what will be shown in the show..he appeared in a malay show called Detik. Those malay people will noe what show it is.
My aunt reminded me to watch him 2 days ago 8.30pm. I sacrified not watching Singapore Idol for the next half an hour..
The people in Detik interviewed Cik Ju since that episod was a special episod relating to National Day.
He just came back from a mountain expedition in Malaysia with a group of blind people too. I dun noe why, but i cried watching him.
I realised that there's so much more that i dun noe about Cik Ju.
I know he's blind. He's partially blind. He could only see a bit in the day, what more at night.
But what i dun noe is that he was already blind since he was 6 or 7 years old. When he was young, he would get bump into walls and things around him. He's vision got worst as he gets older.
He told Detik that during the expedition, he almost wanted to give up but his fellow blind friends encourage him to carry on. They of course made it. He's proud of himself and i'm proud of him. I'm proud to have an uncle like him.
My aunt told me in exact words that, " we must follow cik ju. he's visually handicapped but he conquered against all odds ".
I'm sure my late grandfather would equally be proud to noe of my uncle's achievement...
